At Colligence Research, we believe you should have full control over your personal data. This page explains the privacy controls available to you when using our products and services, including the Circle application.

Location Sharing

Circle uses your location to show your contacts where you are, helping them know the best time to reach you.

How to control location sharing:

  • Open Circle > Settings > Privacy > Location precision

  • Choose from three options:

    • Precise - Shares your exact location with your contacts.

    • Approximate - Shares only your general area (city-level) with your contacts.

    • Hidden - Your location is not shared with anyone.

Background location:

  • Circle may collect location in the background to keep your contacts updated even when you are not actively using the App.

  • Background location requires your explicit opt-in consent through a dedicated disclosure dialog.

  • When enabled, location is updated approximately every 5 minutes or when you move 500 meters.

  • You can disable background location at any time through your device settings:

    • iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Circle > select "While Using the App" or "Never"

    • Android: Settings > Apps > Circle > Permissions > Location > select "Allow only while using the app" or "Don't allow"

    • macOS: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Circle > toggle off

What happens when location is disabled:

Your contacts will not see your location. Other features like chat, screenshare, and presence status continue to work normally.

Presence and Status Visibility

Your presence status (online, offline, busy, do not disturb) helps your contacts know when you are available.

How to control status visibility:

  • Open Circle > Settings > Privacy > Status visibility

  • Choose from three options:

    • Everyone - All your contacts can see your status.

    • Contacts only - Only contacts you have added can see your status.

    • Nobody - Your status is hidden from everyone.

Push Notifications

Circle sends push notifications to keep you informed about messages, calls, and contact activity.

How to manage push notifications:

  • In-app: Use Do Not Disturb mode to silence notifications temporarily.

  • iOS: Settings > Notifications > Circle > toggle off or customize alert style, sounds, and badges.

  • Android: Settings > Apps > Circle > Notifications > toggle off or customize notification channels.

  • macOS: System Settings > Notifications > Circle > toggle off or customize.

  • Windows: Settings > System > Notifications > Circle > toggle off.

Disabling push notifications will not affect your ability to use the App. You will still see messages and updates when you open Circle.

Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time.

How to delete your account:

  1. Open Circle > Settings > Privacy > Delete my account

  2. Review the data summary showing what will be deleted:

    • All contacts

    • All messages and conversations

    • All circles (groups)

    • All call history

    • All location history

    • All device information

    • Your user profile

  3. Confirm deletion.

Important: Account deletion is permanent and immediate. All your data is removed from our systems in a single atomic operation. This action cannot be undone.

Alternatively, you can request account deletion by emailing admin@colligence.in.

Data Access Request

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

How to request your data:

Send an email to admin@colligence.in with the subject line "Data Access Request." Include the email address associated with your Circle account. We will respond within 30 days.

Data Portability

You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.

How to request data export:

Send an email to admin@colligence.in with the subject line "Data Portability Request." We will provide your data in a standard format (such as JSON or CSV) within 30 days.

AI Interactions (Maada)

Maada is Circle's AI-powered assistant. Your conversations with Maada are stored to provide the service and maintain conversation context.

What you can do:

  • Your Maada conversations are associated with your account and are deleted when you delete your account.

  • You can start a new conversation at any time to clear the current context.

Communication Preferences

Managing contact visibility:

  • You control which contacts are in your circles and who can see your information.

  • You can remove contacts or leave circles at any time.

  • Muting a contact will silence notifications from that person without removing them.

Local Data

Circle stores some data locally on your device for performance and offline functionality:

  • Preferences and settings (stored in SharedPreferences / UserDefaults)

  • Authentication tokens (stored securely in Keychain / KeyStore / FlutterSecureStorage)

  • Cached data for faster loading

How to clear local data:

  • iOS: Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Circle > Offload App or Delete App

  • Android: Settings > Apps > Circle > Storage > Clear Cache / Clear Data

  • macOS: Delete the app and its data from Applications

  • Windows: Uninstall Circle from Settings > Apps

Clearing local data will sign you out and remove cached information from your device. Your account data on our servers is not affected.

Do Not Track

Circle is a native application and does not respond to browser Do Not Track (DNT) signals. However, we do not use any tracking technologies, advertising identifiers, or third-party analytics for advertising purposes.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

  • Right to Know: You can request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you. Email admin@colligence.in with the subject "CCPA - Right to Know."

  • Right to Delete: You can request deletion of your personal information. Use the in-app account deletion feature or email admin@colligence.in.

  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell your personal information to third parties. No opt-out action is necessary.

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not deny you services, charge you different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised your privacy rights.

EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Right of Access: Request a copy of your personal data.

  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.

  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data.

  • Right to Restrict Processing: Request that we limit how we use your data.

  • Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a portable format.

  • Right to Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.

  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email admin@colligence.in with the subject "GDPR Request."

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

India Residents (DPDPA 2023)

If you are located in India, you have the following rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023:

  • Right to Access: Request a summary of your personal data being processed and the processing activities.

  • Right to Correction and Erasure: Request correction of inaccurate data or erasure of data that is no longer necessary.

  • Right to Grievance Redressal: Contact our Grievance Officer at admin@colligence.in. We will acknowledge your grievance and resolve it within the timeframe prescribed by law.

  • Right to Nominate: Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

If your grievance is not satisfactorily resolved, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India as established under the DPDPA 2023.
